Hello! I had a little creative spur in the night and took it out on some paper and pencils in front of my camera. The thought that kept me up was – describe a word in 10 seconds without using words. I thought I’d give “sensitive” a go. You might want to watch it a couple of times to see what’s going on behind the layer of unfortunate video quality (sorry). Anyways, it was fun to move stuff around again! Hope you enjoy it too..

According to the Chinese horoscope, positive things can be said about those born in the year of the Dragon. During a time of the lowest point in my life, when all Dragon related adjectives felt lost, I had a conversation with myself (as seen in lyrics) which led me to book a one way plane ticket to happiness. After 4 months of travelling I ended up at my main goal; to stand on the summit of Kilimanjaro (as seen on the cover). I made a promise to myself not to walk back down until I was certain that I would not return to that low point where my journey had begun. I’m happy to say it worked …

When looking through an old hard drive, I came across this old start of an idea that I filmed at Larsville Studio, during the recording sessions for “Sometimes Divided” in 2005. It was early summer morning/dawn and the rest of the guys (band and sound technician Pål) were still fast asleep at the other end of the house. I was on my way to bed at this point, having trouble sleeping as usual because … I enjoy staying up all night. Pluss there was a Grand Piano on the premississ!

Might just put some more vocals and things to it if I take the idea further. T’was nice to hear it again anyway.

On “Sometimes Divided”, this song appears a little under halfway through. I’d just signed my first record deal as a solo artist on the Toothfairy label, so me and my first band moved into Larsville Studio (Stugudalen, Norway) to record the debut in the summer of 2005.

Extremely excited I started writing a song on the first night of arrival, which became “Covered in Horizons”. Recently browsing through an old hard drive, I found this old video recording I did to remember the melody. I’m pretty sure this video is of the first time I tested the lyrics out loud.

The final album mix has a quiet and lonely beginning turning into a bigger sound at the end with the band. I like what this represents, although harder to hear the lyrics that way. Compromises …
